Affinity Eyewear at 100% Optical

100% Optical at Excel London on the 24-26 February 2024 will be the launch of the Affinity eyewear 2024 collection in the UK having already been on sale in Australia since September 2023. This is the 3rd iteration of the collection with new designs, colours and acetates but still true to the original concepts of something for everyone in sustainable materials. The collection has been designed by Stig Hansen, Optometrist and co-founder of Democratic eyewear in Copenhagen and curated by Affinity Optical Director Kerry Pullin, formerly Product Director at Specsavers, and fellow Director and optometrist Lene Ringmann.

Kerry said:

True to our name Affinity is about designs for everyone, offering great value and quality in great materials. Having been involved in retailing for over 30 years and optics specifically for 15 years we know how important customer trust is. We are incredibly proud of the Affinity eyewear and how well received it has been. With our new warehouse in Cardiff we believe this will equally be the case in the UK

Optometrists Lene Ringmann and Stig Hansen* both understand the need for functionality, as well as form, so comfort is an integral part of the design process.

They added:

Everyone wants to look great in their specs but equally they have to be comfortable, so being light weight is a key feature, along with being robust and sturdy for everyday life. Between us all having been involved in optics for many years, we really wanted to create a collection that not only looked good and felt great but equally, offered great quality and value. Value for the customer but also our planet. Bio-acetate and titanium tick these boxes. After all, that’s why we call ourselves Affinity

Lene concluded:

When designing the collection we paid extra attention to details and shapes, following the global trends of 2024, yet making sure our frames would match your every day lifestyle. We’ve got some fantastic colours in the collection from a beautiful midnight blue to a warm green in our acetate frames, as well as some daring colours on the reverse side of our titanium range. The whole team is extremely proud of the quality of the frames versus the affordable price

The collection is available for viewing at 100% by appointment on the OSA stand, or off site at the Aloft hotel. *Stig is also a judge at the Global Design Graduate Show (in collaboration with Gucci) for students in art and design.
